Description
The mini cooper “s” drive flange as used on all 7.5″ disc cooper s/1275gt variants.
Was originally intended to use 10″ wheels as an integral part of the front suspension. in addition to providing the connection between the axle and the wheels (thus the term “drive flange”) it also provides the outer thrust surface for the wheel bearings, this is the main area for concern with the flange.
If the bearings are allowed to work loose or simply just wear out, the inner race of the bearing will spin and wear a very machined groove into the drive flange
Important fitting note:
Where described, all parts are labelled by nearside/offside or left and right. This is always identified from a right hand drive (UK) vehicle, or if you were looking at the car from the back facing forward.
